EUVATACTION

The new EU VAT rules are hitting a lot of indie creators hard. They are also damaging small businesses, charities and benefiting large companies like Amazon by forcing the competition to trade through them.

Effectively if you sell online to EU customers, expect to have to store your customers’ names, IP addresses and physical addresses for ten years, work out which country they are in and pay the VAT to that government which can result in an overseas transfer fee. And expect to do that for every sale: there is no threshold.

You can get full details of the campaign to repeal this from the EUVATACTION Website, or facebook page.

Here are some banners and ads you can use to promote the campaign – complete unofficial, of course, but it helps get the word out. Just right click and copy them to your machine and please link them to www.euvataction.org or to the facebook page.
